How to enter & frequently asked questions

How do I apply for The Graduate Art Prize 2019?

Via our online entry form here. Entries will be open from Friday 24th May until Friday 29th July 2019.

How much does it cost to enter?

It is absolutely free! ARTIQ believes in supporting artists, not exploiting them.

How many works can I enter?

It is possible to enter 6 separate artworks. Works such as a triptych or other series may be considered as a single submission.

What medium of artworks will you consider?

Artworks may be paintings, prints, photographs or sculptures.

What format should my images be in?

Images should be jpeg files and need to be good enough quality to print- so 300dpi and at least 10cm on the shortest side.

How is the winner selected?

A judging panel comprised of art experts from Herbert Smith Freehills and ARTIQ will select a shortlist from the entries. This is usually 20 artists and they may select one or more works from each artist. Each selected artist will then be entered into ARTIQ’s voting tool and the winner selected by public vote.

Will I be able to vote for myself?

Of course, the voting will be open to the public but please be aware multiple votes are not possible and the voting process is carefully monitored for suspicious activity.

How do I know if I am shortlisted?

The shortlist will be announced via our social media on Monday 23rd September, with all successful entrants contacted in advance just prior to this date.

When is the winner announced?

The winner will be announced at a special prize giving ceremony on 7th November.

When is the Private View?

There is no private view as such, but there will be an exclusive prize-giving event to be hosted at Herbert Smith Freehills' headquarters in the City of London. This will be attended by the shortlisted artists and clients and friends of Herbert Smith Freehills and ARTIQ.

How can I see the exhibition?

Due to the works being displayed in a busy corporate setting, unfortunately, the only opportunity to view the works will be at the prize giving event.
